7 Income Generating Websites!

1. BirdChannel

Our website, BirdChannel.com, is one of the largest bird websites out there. While we primarily focus on pet birds (parrots and some passerines), no bird topic is off limits. With hundreds of thousands of visitors every month, BirdChannel.com is the place for people to get the latest bird news, videos and information.

What We’re Looking For
Funny articles, like 5 Birds That Will Take Over The World.

Thought-Provoking articles, like Therapy Birds: “Emotional Support Animal,” Or Merely A Pet?

Passionate, enthusiastic articles, like A Plea For Parakeets.

Feel good and educational articles, like 5 Lessons My African Grey Taught Me

We want writers that get birds and their people. Maybe you’re the person who refers to birds as “birbs.” Maybe you’re the person who all your friends call the “crazy bird lady/man.” If so, let’s talk.

What else are we looking for? People who care: about the craft of writing, about the subject matter, about our readers’ interests.  Read More.

2. Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitan.com is building a network of talented and eager contributors. We want you to participate!

Send us an essay of no more than 800 words about a memorable, crazy, hilarious, or touching college experience. Stories about friends, class, dating, partying, studying, working, interning — anything that happened to you or around you in college is fair game. (Or: Tell us why you didn’t go to college, why college is bullshit, what you’re doing instead… )

If we publish your essay on Cosmopolitan.com, we’ll pay you $100 — and hit you up for future assignments. Submit here.

3. FlashMint

We, at FlashMint, are looking for talented Flash developers to contribute articles to FlashMint Tuts. If you’re skilled with Flash, Flex, ActionScript, Animation, we’ll pay you $150 for your work.
With every Flash tutorial accepted, you will also get a Short Bio for self promotion with a link to your website.

Within the couple of days we will let you know if your post has been accepted. If this is the case, we will contact you for payment details and personal information.

4. The Introspectionist

The Introspectionist accepts unsolicited article ideas and pitches from freelance writers. Please read our editorial calendar and include the edition and theme for which your article idea would apply.

What We Are Looking For

Every month The Introspectionist chooses a theme and does a deep analysis of that theme. We try to look at a given theme from all angles and examine it in a detail that cannot be met with a single article. Therefore, we are always looking for unique angles on any of our themes. Please read our editorial calendar and if you have an interesting idea to share on any of our themes, do not hesitate to share it with us.

Stylistically, we publish several types of articles.

  • Articles that both tell a story and inform.
  • Persuasive essays, creative non-fiction, and in-depth informational pieces.
  • One piece of short fiction and one poem every month which relate directly to the theme of that issue.
  • We accept shorter submissions for our featured departments.

The departments contain articles from 100 to 500 words and can vary in style from informative to entertaining but must be stimulating and relate to the central theme.

The Introspectionist publishes more intelligent and in-depth articles than your average woman’s magazine. We expect thought-provoking insites, uniquely informative pieces, and above all else, for you to show your work. Every article should have footnotes and links to where the reader can find more information. Reference peer reviewed articles from journals, books, and other high quality material.

Compensation

  • Department piece (from 100 to 500 words), we pay $25.
  • Feature article up to 2000 words, we pay $100.
  • For a feature article up to 5000 words, we pay $200.
  • Short fiction pieces pay $25.
  • Poems pay $25.
  • Each contributor will receive a photograph and short bio in that issue. Read More/Submit

Guest Bloggers and Blog Posts

We look for guest bloggers for a two month series of blog posts, publishing 1 to 3 blog posts per week. Topics can be as broad or as narrow as you want, but must be of specific interest to women and fit into the general overall feel of the The Introspectionist. The guest blogger positions are paid positions. If you would like to be a guest blogger for The Introspectionist, please submit a brief description of your topic idea, including several specific post ideas, and two blog posts as examples of your writing style. You can submit your ideas to GuestBlogger@TheIntrospectionist.com
